Message From Clerk Tiffany Moore Russell

Orange County Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell

The public's right to know is one of the most important obligations of elected officials, and why I am proud to say the Clerk’s Office is recognizing the annual observance of Sunshine Week.

Sunday, March 10th through Saturday, March 16th marks Florida's annual Sunshine Week, which emphasizes the importance of public records and open government.  I have the utmost respect for our state's public information laws, which are among the broadest in this country, and have dedicated myself to upholding them.

That’s why my office held a legal forum called Public Records: What’s Confidential & What’s Not to share with the community important information about public records and how to order certified copies, and videos of that forum were posted on our YouTube channel. The Clerk's Office, which is an integral part of the Ninth Judicial Circuit, works with the public and media outlets daily to respond swiftly and responsibly to public-information requests.

In our role maintaining court records, we have millions of files filled with information on criminal trials, civil suits, traffic violations, and matters affecting families, such as adoptions, custody disputes and domestic violence, to name just a few of our case types.

The vast majority of this information is public record, though some, according to state statutes, is not. It's vital that we have a well-trained staff that knows the difference and can respond appropriately. I'm very proud of our record in this regard.

Driven by our strong commitment to customer service, we provide a number of ways to access court-case information:

  • On this website, you can easily look up court cases from the convenience of your home, office or anywhere you have Internet access with the my eClerk link.
  • We have public viewing rooms filled with computers in our courthouse offices and our branches, where customers can electronically access files and make printouts.
  • Our deputy clerks stand ready to personally assist customers seeking information at our counters and through our Call Center.

We also work with attorneys, agency partners, the media and others who seek reports that show trends or add perspective to an issue.

Please visit our Clerk in the Sunshine page at, where you will find budget and other financial updates, timeliness statistics, customer service ratings and complete audit results.

Again, during this Government in the Sunshine Week I welcome the reminder that we work for the people, who have a right to our complete transparency.
