Civil Court


County Civil Court handles claims up to and including $15,000. A County Civil case is any civil matter that falls within the jurisdiction of County Court.

Circuit Civil cases are non-criminal cases in which individuals or businesses sue for damages which exceed $15,000.

Home Solicitation Sale Permit


A Home Solicitation Sale Permit is required for individuals who intend to sell a product or service door-to-door.

How much does the permit cost?
$69.00. This includes two separate fees: 

  • The Clerk's fee is $45.00
  • The Florida Department of Law Enforcement fee is $24.00 (payable to FDLE)

What do I need to apply?
  • Home Solicitation Sale Permit Application 
  • Valid photo identification 
  • Completed fingerprint card 
  • Two separate payment amounts - one to the Clerk's Office, one to FDLE

To Apply
Bring your original fingerprint card to the Orange County Clerk's Office. A photo will be taken for your permit.

What Happens Next?
Your fingerprints and application will be sent to FDLE for state processing and the Orange County Sheriff for a criminal background check. Both agencies will report to the Clerk's Office within 60 days. If your application is approved, the Clerk will mail your permit. If your permit is not approved, you will be notified by the Clerk's Office in a letter. 
 
The Home Solicitation Sale Permit is valid for one year from the date of issuance.

Who is exempt?
The law states that solicitors, salesperson or agents making calls or soliciting orders on behalf of religious, charitable, scientific, educational, or veterans' institution or organization holding a sales tax exemption certificate under S. 212.08(7) are exempt.
