Application Process
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the specifications of the position as defined on the job description. Experience can be substituted for education, or vice versa, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. A valid Florida driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record may be required for some positions.
Most of our job opportunities are for entry-level clerical positions including Deputy Clerk and Trial Clerk. Passing scores on computer-based skills assessments are required for all entry (clerical) level positions.
Selection Procedure
Position openings may be posted for a specific period of time or as an open until filled basis.
The selection procedure requires an evaluation of relevant education, experience and a personal or panel interview of qualified applicants.
Employer and/or reference verification will be conducted on those selected for an interview (current employers will not be contacted at this point).
Salary Ranges
For most positions, the salary listed is the starting salary. If a range is listed instead, then salary is commensurate with experience.
Testing Procedures
If you are selected to complete testing required for a position, you will be contacted by Human Resources. Only applicants with passing scores will be considered for the position.
Closing Date
A completed application must be received by the closing date. Applications will not be accepted after the closing date.

Accessing the Online Job Application
All job applications are now entered into our secure applicant tracking website. To complete an application click on the Job Opportunities link and then on Search for Available Positions. Once at this website you will have the following two choices:
- First Time Users: Scroll down the page and click the appropriate Apply link to enter a new application if you are a first time user.
- Returning Users: Click log in here to access your job application to make changes or additions to the application you currently have on file.
Application Status
You will be notified if selected for an interview. Please note that Human Resources is unable to give the status of your application by phone due to the volume of applications received.
Post Offer - Screenings
If you are selected for a position, a Human Resources representative will contact you to make a contingent offer for employment. All job offers with the Orange County Clerk of Courts are contingent upon satisfactory completion of the following:
- Completion of employment application and non-smoker affidavit.
- Local, state and national criminal background and valid driver’s license checks.
- Employment, education and/or reference verifications (current employer, if applicable, before a contingent job offer is made).
- Physical examination including screening for the presence of illegal narcotic substances.
- Other requirements will be stated within the posted job opportunity announcement.
Should you satisfactorily pass the post-offer screening process, a Human Resources representative will confirm your hire date.
