Virtual Clerks Against Domestic Violence Recap

In an effort to raise awareness on domestic violence prevention and share resources, the Orange County Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell commemorated October’s Domestic Violence Awareness month in Orange County with a special edition Legal Matters Workshop - “Clerks Against Domestic Violence During Covid-19.

The Clerk of Courts in conjunction with Harbor House of Central Florida, Victim Service Center of Central Florida (VSC) and law enforcement promoted awareness through educational materials related to domestic violence prevention. The workshop/speakers consisted of:

- Clerk's Office: How to File a Restraining Order by Roberta Walton, Family Division Manager and Carrie Coley, Deputy Clerk Team Leader
- Guidance from Harbor House of Central Florida by Michelle Sperzel, Harbor House CEO 
- Conversation around Stalking/Cyberstalking Awareness by Emily Mitchell, VSC Education Coordinator
- Self Defense Class conducted by the Orlando Police Department by Officer Kevlon H. Kirkpatrick
