Applying for a Marriage License Just Got Easier
If you’re engaged and getting married, you can begin the marriage license application process right here on the Clerk’s website. The Orange County Clerk of Courts recently launched its new eMarriage application to make applying for a marriage license a little easier.
Using the eMarriage form, couples are able to fill out the marriage license application in the Marriages section of our website and submit it directly to the Clerk’s Office once it is complete.
Keep in mind that the online application is not an actual marriage license. After the couple completes the marriage license application form, they are required by law to appear in person with the required documentation and complete the application process within 60 days from the date in which they submit their application online. If the process is not completed within 60 days, the couple will be required to submit a new application.
A wedding ceremony can be done the same day if requirements are met. However, be aware that there is a 3-day waiting period for Florida residents who have not completed a premarital preparation course. Visit the Marriages section for complete details on required documents and convenient locations for completing the marriage license process.
