The Orange County Clerk of Courts is teaming up with the Mental Health Association of Central Florida and the Florida Implementation of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention (FINS) to provide free suicide prevention training.

The free QPR training will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 11:30am to 3:00pm at Marks Street Senior Recreation Complex as we raise awareness to reduce the stigma of mental health.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.

The Clerk’s Office will kick-off the training with information on how the Clerk’s Office can help you with filing a mental health related proceeding.

We expect this event to be completely full. If you register and realize you are unable to attend, please let us know so we can give your spot to someone on the waiting list.
