Q: What is the amount I pay for
the school option?
A: The amounts are provided on the envelope given by the
officer. For additional information regarding traffic school, follow
this link and scroll down to Option 3.

Q: Can I go to school if my ticket
is late?
A: Yes you can still elect school. You would be required
to pay an additional $23.00 late fee along with your cost for electing
the school option. The costs are in lieu of the civil penalty. If
you are not sure of the cost required, please refer
to this chart.

Q: What happens when my license
is suspended?
A: You are not allowed to drive until you clear up the suspension
and have your license reinstated.

Q: Why is my license suspended?
A: There are many possible reasons why your license is suspended. If
you have any past-due, open traffic tickets in Orange County, we
can assist you in getting the matters cleared up. If your license
is suspended for any other reason or for tickets in another county,
you can contact the Department
of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV)
at 850-922-9000, and they will be able to assist you further.

Q: When is my payment due?
A: If you were given a payable civil infraction, you have
30 straight calendar days from the date the citation was issued
to pay your fine.

Q: What is a Toll Ticket?
A: Orange County Expressway Authority will take
a snapshot picture of the license tag of any vehicle that evades
paying the proper tolls throughout Orange County. The toll violation
fine will be directed to the person registered to the vehicle. The
fine for a toll violation is $186.00. Points will be assessed.

Q: I was not notified of
the toll violation. Who do I call?
A: The Orange County Expressway Authority mails out the
toll violations via certified mail. If you have not updated your
current address the certified letter will be returned to the Expressway
Authority. You may contact them for more detailed information at
407-835-2900. You will need to provide the correct name on the citation
or the citation number.

Q: What do I do when I was
not the one driving the car but I received the toll violation fine?
A: Contact the Clerk of Courts to request a Affidavit Denying
Responsibility of the citation. You must provide the name and
date
of birth of the person driving the vehicle. A court hearing will
be set; you will not be required to appear. The person driving
the
vehicle may complete an Affidavit Admitting Responsibility to avoid
a Court appearance. If the citation is past due (beyond 30 calendar
days) you will be charged a $23.00 late fee. For more information

Q: Do you accept personal checks?
A: Yes, we accept personal checks, money orders, cash, MasterCard
and Visa.

Q: Can I pay my ticket on the
Internet?
A: Yes. Please go to

Q: Do you give extensions? Over
the phone?
A: Yes, but only via the internet (I-pay). You are welcome to visit
our downtown office, express payment booth or any convenient branch
to extend your citation. There is a $4.00 fee for this service.
You may also use Western Union services to extend your citation.
You will need to contact a traffic representative for details at

Q: Can I get a copy of
the citation?
A: Yes, mail in your request along with a self-addressed
stamped envelope and a $1.00 a page, $3.00 per page if you would
like it certified.

Q: What’s the amount
of the bond?

yet?
A: You need to call 407-836-6000.

Q: Can I get copies from
my file?
A: Yes, our cases are public record. You
will be required to pay $1.00 per page, plus $2.00 to certify a
page or document, if certification is required.

Q: What is a D-6 clearance?
Can I get a D-6 clearance?
A: A D-6 is the clearance form showing you have
satisfied your court requirements. You must provide this form
to the DHSMV
in order to be reinstated. You will be given a D-6 upon compliance
with your citation. If you have lost a D-6, we can provide
you with a certified copy for a fee of $3.00. A duplicate D6 can
be faxed to your local DMV if you provide us with their fax number.
Please verify that your DMV will accept a fax from our office.

Q: Is there a DMV in the Courthouse?
A: The DMV is located in Room 410 of the Courthouse.
Their office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. You must be in line by 4:00 pm

Q: How much do I owe on
my old tickets?
A: You need to call 407-836-6000. Requests for
information on more than 5 cases must be made in writing to the
Clerk of the Court or in person.

Q: I mailed my payment
in. Did you receive it?
A: You can call 407-836-6000, and use the automated
phone service to query on the status of your case. Due to our
high volume, it may take a few days to be posted to your account.
Q: Why is the price of
the ticket different from what is on the back of the yellow copy?
A: The only time you would pay a different amount
from what your citation states would be due to paying your citation late. The officer may have written
an incorrect amount. The Clerk's office is required to collect the
correct amount as required by statute.

Q: I’ve received a subpoena.
What should I do?
A: Your subpoena should have instructions on the
bottom giving you a phone number to call to verify your appearance
requirement and assist you with any further information you may
need.
